The VSW-346 is a high-performance 8-Port Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch specifically tested and approved for use within the VESDA-E and VESDAnet Ethernet-based architecture. This ruggedized switch is used to interconnect multiple VESDA-E detectors (such as the VEU, VEP, or VEA) or to bridge the detectors to a local area network (LAN) for monitoring via Xtralis VSC or VESDA Connect software. Engineered for the demanding environments where aspirating smoke detection is typically deployed, the VSW-346 ensures low-latency data transmission for critical life safety alerts and configuration data.

  • DIN Rail Mounting: Includes a standard integrated DIN rail clip for secure mounting inside VESDA-E power supply cabinets or auxiliary enclosures.
  • Redundant Power Inputs: Features dual 12/24/48 VDC power inputs with terminal block connections to ensure continuous operation if one power source fails.
  • Plug-and-Play: As an unmanaged switch, it requires no software configuration, ensuring immediate "VESDA-out-of-the-box" connectivity for installers.
  • Broadcast Storm Protection: Includes integrated circuitry to prevent network loops from crashing the fire detection communication string.
  • Operating Temperature: Rated for extreme reliability from -10°C to 60°C, far exceeding standard commercial office switches.
