The Potter CPS-24 Conventional Photoelectric Smoke Detector is a highly reliable smoke detection device designed for both standard and in-duct applications. It features a bicolored LED that provides clear visual status: green flashes every 3 seconds in standby, red flashes when sensitivity drifts outside UL-listed parameters, and a solid red light during an alarm.

The detector operates using an infrared LED light source and a silicon photodiode. Smoke entering the detection chamber reflects light to the photodiode, generating electronic signals that are analyzed to determine if an alarm should be triggered. The device ensures accurate, stable operation with RF and transient protection and meets NFPA 72 sensitivity verification requirements.
