 Eaton’s Wheelock Eluxa low frequency sounders (ELFHN) and sounder strobes (ELFHS) are engineered to satisfy the NFPA 72 requirements for low frequency alarms in sleeping areas, covering both fire and carbon monoxide (CO) notifications. These devices combine dual applications in a single unit, providing both low and high candela settings along with T3 (fire) and T4 (CO) audible signals.

Leveraging Eaton’s advanced energy-efficient LED technology, Eluxa sounders deliver one of the lowest current draws in the industry across all candela settings, minimizing overall power usage and system costs. As the first notification appliances to use LED as the primary light source, Eluxa features a patented optical design that optimizes efficiency, reduces material costs, allows more devices per circuit, and lowers the need for multiple power supplies. Wall and ceiling models are available with 110 and 177 cd options.

With its compact footprint and low-profile design, the Eluxa low frequency sounders and sounder strobes provide an unobtrusive, aesthetically pleasing appearance that blends with any interior. The units include three horn patterns (Continuous, T3, T3/T4), pre-wired/pre-tested mounting plates with hinged features for easy installation, and require no tools for field adjustments. Designed for indoor wall and ceiling applications, the ELFHS and ELFHN models operate at 24V. Optional lettering ALERT, CO, or no text is also available.

Eluxa strobes comply with the 2016 NFPA 72 20-millisecond light pulse duration requirement, enabling LED and xenon devices to coexist in the same field of view. The products are UL listed under Standards 1971, 1638, and 464, as well as CAN/ULC-S525 and CAN/ULC-S526, RoHS compliant, and free from mercury or other hazardous substances. They are compatible with a wide range of Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) and accessories, including Exceder LED3 and Wheelock RSS strobe-based devices, and can be installed in the same notification zone alongside these systems.
