The Apollo America SSU-HS-100-N (distributed and packaged by Space Age Electronics) is a low-flow ionization plenum smoke detector designed to sample air currents in commercial rooftop package units and HVAC return air plenums. Engineered to prevent the dangerous recirculation of toxic smoke and combustion gases by triggering immediate fan or blower shutdowns, this tube-free, low-profile detector mounts securely inside a standard 4" square electrical back box for surface or pendant configurations. The device incorporates a universal multi-voltage input terminal block supporting 24VAC, 24VDC, 115VAC, or 230VAC configurations. Operating over an air velocity range of 0 to 2,000 feet per minute, the SSU-HS-100-N utilizes an advanced ionization chamber head with built-in internal dust filtering to minimize nuisance false alarms in volatile HVAC environments.
