GD-2B MACURCO
Product Overview
The Macurco GD-2B is a low-voltage, fixed-point combustible gas detector engineered to provide safety monitoring across residential, multi-family, light commercial, and institutional facilities. Operating on a 9–32 VDC or 12–24 VAC power input, the unit continuously monitors ambient air for hazardous leaks of Methane (Natural Gas) and Propane (LP Gas), triggering a local alarm once concentrations reach 25% of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). Part of the Macurco Security Series, the GD-2B is designed to interface directly with fire alarm and burglary control panels to utilize system battery backups, featuring an integrated 85 dB buzzer and a low-profile white housing that accommodates both flush and surface installations.
Key Features
- Target Fuel Gases: Specially calibrated to detect Methane (Natural Gas) and Propane (LP Gas); sensitivity tested based on strict UL 1484 residential standards.
- Onboard Audible Alarm: Equipped with an internal 85 dB buzzer (with a removable jumper for optional silent operation) that emits loud tone bursts during local gas events and chirps during a sensor trouble state.
- Dual Control Relays: Outfitted with an SPST alarm relay (jumper-configurable to Normally Open or Normally Closed, with self-restoring or manual-latch modes) and a Normally Closed (N.C.) SPST trouble relay.
- Zero-Calibration Sensor: Features a 10-year solid-state electronic sensor element that operates with onboard temperature compensation and requires no routine field calibration or maintenance.
- Versatile Box Mounting: Built within a sleek, low-profile white housing that can flush mount into a standard single-gang electrical switch box or surface mount directly to the wall.
- Panel-Driven Input: Runs on 9–32 VDC or 12–24 VAC, enabling simple plug-in wire harness connection directly to standard fire and security loops.
