The Xtralis OSI-90 is a specialized Imager unit designed for the OSID (Open-Area Smoke Imaging Detection) system, featuring a wide 90-degree field of view. By utilizing dual-wavelength UV and IR beams, this device effectively discriminates between actual smoke and environmental interferences such as dust, steam, or solid objects. Its wide-angle capability allows a single Imager to monitor multiple emitters, providing volumetric coverage for large, irregular open spaces. The unit utilizes CMOS imaging technology, which tolerates building movement and vibration, ensuring reliable operation where traditional beam detectors might fail.
