 To ensure complete fire safety, self-testing of flame detectors alone is not sufficient. Most local authorities and SIL2 compliance standards require a full annual test of the entire flame detection system. This includes testing the loop from the detector, through the wiring to the controller, and up to the alarm notification. The external flame simulator allows this full system test safely, without using a real fire.
