The OSI-RI-SK Intelligent Reflective Beam Smoke Detector is engineered for rapid installation, reliable performance, and a clean, modern appearance, making it an excellent choice for large, open-area environments where traditional spot detectors are difficult to install or maintain. Designed for high-ceiling facilities such as warehouses, aircraft hangars, malls, arenas, and performance venues, the detector uses infrared light obscuration to identify smoke across long distances, providing dependable protection in challenging spaces.

The OSI-RI-SK integrates both transmitter and receiver components into a single addressable device compatible with Silent Knight® fire alarm control panels. Alignment is simplified through a highly intuitive system that uses a movable CMOS-based “eyeball” imager. This imager shifts horizontally and vertically to locate the reflector, guided by four LED arrows that confirm perfect positioning. Once aligned, the unit is secured using a slide-lock mechanism and covered with a paintable front housing.

Designed to remain stable even in dynamic environments, the OSI-RI-SK automatically tracks the reflector to compensate for minor building or structural movement, greatly reducing false alarms, one of the most common issues with conventional beam detectors. Its advanced optical filtering and high-speed image processing help reject false alarms caused by intense light sources, such as direct or reflected sunlight, while proprietary smoke imaging techniques prevent nuisance alarms triggered by sudden partial obstructions.

The detector automatically sets its sensitivity based on the reflector size detected in its field of view, further reducing setup time and ensuring optimal performance. Built-in drift compensation continuously adjusts the detection threshold as dust accumulates on optical surfaces, maintaining long-term stability. For environments prone to condensation, the OSI-RI-SK also includes an internal heater to protect the optical surface (requires external power).
