Product Overview

The Apollo America SSU-HS-100-P is a specialized photoelectric plenum smoke detector designed to sample air conditions inside HVAC return plenums, ceiling spaces, and structural air shafts. Engineered to detect smoke particles from slow-burning, smoldering fires and initiate immediate ventilation system shutdowns, this unit mounts securely into a standard 4-inch square electrical junction box without the need for external air sampling tubes. The device incorporates a universal multi-voltage input terminal block that accepts 24VAC, 24VDC, 115VAC, or 230VAC configurations. Operating flawlessly across a wide air velocity range of 0 to 2,000 feet per minute, the SRE-HS-100-P features a low-profile photoelectric chamber with an integrated dust-filtering system to ensure high immunity against nuisance false alarms in volatile ambient air environments.

Key Features

  • Photoelectric Sensing Technology: Employs an interchangeable, UL 268 listed photoelectric sensor head optimized for capturing forward-scattered light from smoldering smoke particles.
  • Tube-Free Plenum Installation: Low-profile design allows direct placement within mechanical air plenums, entirely eliminating the need for rigid external sampling tubes or sampling probes.
  • Universal Multi-Voltage Terminals: Features a versatile power input matrix that handles 24VAC, 24VDC, 115VAC, or 230VAC to simplify field wiring across diverse building automation networks.
  • Heavy-Duty Relay Contacts: Equipped with one set of 10A Form C alarm contacts, one set of 2A Form A alarm contacts, and one set of 10A Form C trouble contacts for system controls.
  • Interconnected Network Support: Supports the cross-connection of up to 30 distributed units to simultaneously trigger a localized fan shutdown or transmit a global alarm signal.
  • Integrated Test Magnet Switch: Features a built-in magnetic reed switch on the detector housing, allowing field technicians to execute rapid diagnostic verifications using an external test magnet.
