The Silent Knight 005815XL Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) Expander increases IntelliKnight® panel capacity by adding up to 99 modules and 99 detectors to existing fire alarm loops, eliminating the need for full control unit replacements during facility expansions or modernization projects.

Each expander communicates directly with the host cabinet through the RS-485 system bus and scales addressable endpoints to a maximum of 127 devices per unit. Deploy up to three 005815XL cards within a single installation to cover sprawling commercial or industrial sites while maintaining centralized monitoring from one control panel.

Continuous loop performance is verified by a dedicated green LED that flashes to confirm stable data exchange with the main controller. When a field endpoint shorts, goes open, or experiences a wiring fault, the expander isolates the disruption and transmits the precise address back to the panel. This targeted fault reporting keeps healthy sections of the circuit fully functional during troubleshooting or component swaps.

Engineered for straightforward retrofit integration, the board accommodates standard two-wire and multi-drop wiring layouts found in legacy fire alarm infrastructure. It meets UL 864 Listing requirements and carries FM, CSFM, and MEA certification, ensuring full alignment with NFPA 72 and NFPA 101 mandates for ongoing life safety inspections and code compliance audits.
