LNL-8000 LENEL

Product Overview 

The Lenel LNL-8000 is a legacy Star Multiplexer designed to expand the RS-485 communication bus of an Intelligent System Controller (ISC). It allows a technician to move away from a traditional "daisy-chain" topology to a Star topology, branching a single upstream controller port into eight (8) independent downstream RS-485 ports. This is particularly useful in retrofit applications where existing home-run wiring must be utilized. Note: As of 2026, this product is considered legacy; for new installations, IP-to-the-door modules (LNL-1300E/1324E) or the LNL-X Series controllers with multiple native ports are the preferred standard.

• Bus Expansion: Splits one upstream signal into 8 downstream RS-485 (2-wire) ports.
• Topology: Enables Star-pattern wiring, allowing for multiple home-run cables back to a central room.
• Upstream Interface: Can connect to the ISC via RS-232 (direct) or RS-485 (multidrop).
• Communication Repeat: Acts as a repeater, allowing each of the 8 downstream ports to support a 4,000 ft (1,219 m) segment.
• Diagnostics: On-board LEDs for Power, Upstream (Host) Comms, and Downstream (Device) Comms.
• Device Compatibility: Supports standard Series 1, 2, and 3 modules (LNL-1100, LNL-1200, LNL-1300, LNL-1320).
• Power: 12 VDC input.
• Installation: Requires a 12" x 10" x 4" (minimum) enclosure if not mounted within a standard Lenel cabinet.
