Product Overview

 The Potter VSR-6 is a vane-type waterflow switch designed for wet sprinkler systems. It features two single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) snap-action switches with an adjustable, instantly recycling pneumatic retard. The switches activate when water flow of 10 GPM (38 LPM) or more occurs downstream, ensuring proper signaling in compliance with NFPA-13 standards. The device is suitable for both sectional and standard sprinkler systems and is UL Listed, FM Approved, CUL Listed, CSFM Listed, and LPCB Approved.

  • Pipe Compatibility: Fits steel pipes, schedules 10–40, 2"–8" (50–200 mm); nominal pipe size 6" (DN150).
  • Contact Ratings: Two sets of SPDT (Form C); 10 A @ 125/250 VAC, 2 A @ 30 VDC, 10 mA min. @ 24 VDC.
  • Flow Sensitivity: Triggers at 4–10 GPM (15–38 LPM).
  • Operating Pressure & Surge: 450 PSI (31 BAR) service pressure; max surge 18 FPS (5.5 m/s).
  • Conduit & Wiring: Two 1/2" knockouts; individual switch compartments suitable for dissimilar voltages.
  • Durable Enclosure: NEMA 4/IP54 rated die-cast housing with factory-installed gasket; suitable for indoor/outdoor use.
  • Environmental Range: Temperature 40 °F–120 °F (4.5 °C–49 °C); non-corrosive factory-installed sleeve in saddle.
  • Standards Compliance: NFPA-13, NFPA-13D, NFPA-13R, NFPA-72, UL, FM, CSFM, CUL, LPCB.
