POTTER BVL Lever Type Bleeder Valve
Product Overview
The Model BVL is a lever-type bleeder valve designed for use as a test point for pressure-operated devices on wet pipe sprinkler systems with excess pressure, as well as on dry pipe sprinkler systems. Installed in-line with the pressure device, it enables safe removal or functional testing without altering the system’s overall pressure.
When the valve handle is positioned perpendicular to the 1/2" pipeline, the flow from the supply side is sealed off, while a small exhaust orifice opens to relieve pressure between the valve and the connected device. This controlled low-pressure release allows proper actuation testing and verification of the pressure-operated equipment. Engineered with a bronze body and zinc-plated steel handle, the BVL supports up to 300 PSI (20.7 BAR), ensuring reliability in demanding system conditions.
